Frequently Asked Questions
Does permanent makeup hurt?
This is probably the question I get asked the most. The honest answer? Everyone's pain tolerance is different, but it's almost always much easier than people expect. I use a high-quality topical anesthetic throughout your appointment to keep you as comfortable as possible, and believe it or not...I've had plenty of clients fall asleep while getting their brows or lips done. Most people describe it as more of an odd scratching or vibrating sensation than actual pain. If you're nervous, don't be—I promise the anticipation is usually the worst part.
What if I've had my brows done before?
Having previous permanent makeup is actually more common than you might think! Depending on the age, color, and saturation of your existing pigment, I may be able to refresh or correct your brows. If there's too much old pigment to work over, I also offer laser permanent makeup removal right here in the studio. My laser allows me to target unwanted pigment, helping us create a cleaner canvas for your next set of brows.
Will my brows/lips look natural?
That's always the goal. Unless you specifically want a more defined makeup look, my style leans soft, timeless, and natural. I want people asking if you changed your makeup routine—not asking who tattooed your face.Trust the process..I'm scared they're going to be too dark.
Every. Single. Client. says this.Your brows (or lips) will look darker immediately after your appointment—that's completely normal. As everything heals over the next few weeks, the color softens significantly into a much more natural result. I'd much rather have you text me saying, "I was worried for nothing," than have you wishing we'd gone darker.I tell every client: trust the process. Healing is a journey, not an overnight transformation. How long does permanent makeup last?
Everyone heals a little differently, but most clients enjoy their results for 1–3 years before needing a color refresh. Things like your skin type, sun exposure, skincare routine, and overall lifestyle all play a role in how your pigment ages over timeHow do I know which brow technique is right for me?
Good news...you don't have to.
Choosing between microblading, powder brows, or combination brows isn't your job. We'll look at your skin type, your lifestyle, how much makeup you wear, and the look you're hoping to achieve. From there, I'll recommend the technique that's going to heal the best and give you the most beautiful long-term result. How often should I come in for skincare treatments?
That depends on what we're working toward. If you're maintaining healthy skin, a facial every 4–8 weeks can be a great routine. If we're addressing acne scarring, pigmentation, or texture with corrective treatments, we may recommend a series with specific intervals and recovery time between appointments. And no, you don't need to book the most expensive treatment every month to have good skin. We'll build a realistic plan around your skin, schedule, and budget. Consistency matters more than doing everything at once. Can I get treatments if I use retinol or prescription skincare?
Can I combine different treatments in one appointment?
Sometimes! And honestly, that's one of my favorite parts of customizing treatments.Depending on your skin, we may be able to combine services like dermaplaning, LED therapy, hydrodermabrasion, or other modalities to get more out of your appointment. But more isn't always better. Certain treatments, like chemical peels, microneedling, and laser services, need their own recovery time and shouldn't always be combined.I'll figure out what works well together, what needs to be spaced apart, and what's actually worth doing. The goal isn't to throw everything at your face. It's to do what makes sense for your skin.Usually, yes! But what you're using at home matters.Retinoids, exfoliating acids, certain acne medications, and other active ingredients can affect how your skin responds to waxing, peels, microneedling, and laser treatments. Please tell me what you're using before your appointment. Some products may need to be paused beforehand, while certain medications or skin conditions may mean we need to postpone or choose another treatment.I'd rather adjust your appointment than compromise your skin.
